International Cooperative Assistance

NRECA International’s connection and heritage with the electrification of rural America brings not just a unique perspective but also a culture of serving communities. We convene participation from America’s electric cooperatives to build distribution systems and provide staff training to newly established electric co-ops. This is implemented primarily through a robust volunteer program, where more than 300 NRECA-member cooperatives contribute time, money and materials to dozens of rural communities served by NRECA International projects. Assistance is also provided to global electric cooperatives to assess damage and restore power after natural disasters.
