Celebrating a Powerful Future in Guatemala

Ten years ago, America’s electric cooperatives renewed a partnership with NRECA International to bring power to families in Guatemala. Volunteers have built new distributions systems and brought light and hope to more than a thousand people in 20 villages. Since then, electric co-ops from 10 states have helped provide more than 8,000 people in Guatemala with power. We visited these communities recently, and saw how electricity has made their lives better and happier. Many have benefitted from the work of our volunteers, and their future is much brighter.

To all our US electric cooperatives, who have sent resources and volunteers not just to Guatemala, but worldwide to help us with electrification projects – your work continues to make a difference. Thank you!
